Angie Mutter serves as the Academic Success Coordinator.
Mrs. Mutter graduated from Virginia Tech in 1988 with a B.A. in Public Relations. In 2018, she received her Master’s in Education from Bluefield College. She is currently a PhD candidate in Instructional Design and Technology at Liberty University.
Angie was born in Miami, Florida and spent her childhood in Georgia. Several years after completing her degree at Virginia Tech, she married Mark Mutter and moved to Buchanan County in 1991. She began her teaching career at Vansant Elementary. Mrs. Mutter has spent most of her teaching career in the sciences. She was named a National STEM Scholar in 2018 and is an advocate for STEM education.
Angie and Mark have three adult children, an adorable Shih-tzu, Bella, and a beautiful, granddog named Lady Grey. Mark, Angie, and her children are all graduates of Virginia Tech. “Go Hokies!”
Her oldest son, Lyle, lives and works in Charlotte. Her son, Wayne, is attending Kentucky Optometry in Pikeville, and her youngest, Mary is living in Plano, Texas and is completing a master’s degree at SMU Guildhall.
Angie volunteers at the YMCA as a water aerobics instructor.
