Ms. Jamie Cyphers is the Instructional Designer for Student Success for the Appalachian College of Pharmacy and a member of the Student Affairs team. She will work closely with faculty, staff, and students to aid in student success inside and outside the classroom.
Ms. Cyphers earned an Associate of Arts in Education from Northeast State Community College in 2006 and a Bachelors of Arts in English and Education from East Tennessee State University in 2008. She completed her Masters of Science in Instructional Technology as well as a graduate certificate in Online Teaching and Learning from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville in 2016.
Before arriving at ACP, Ms. Cyphers was lead instructor for the undergraduate Talent Development program at Tusculum University where she also served as Instructional Designer for the College of Education. Ms. Cyphers was an instructor for the Humanities and Social and Behavioral Sciences divisions at Northeast State Community College where she taught for several years, as well as serving as the adjunct faculty senate representative. Since graduating from UT, Ms. Cyphers has worked as an Instructional Design Consultant for a variety of businesses.
Ms. Cyphers is active in several professional organizations and has presented at both the local and state level. Her research interests focus on digital literacy, digital access, and open educational resources and their effects on Appalachian students.
Ms. Cyphers is a native of Kingsport, Tennessee where she serves as a volunteer content and web developer for the Kingsport Literacy Council. She is the proud parent of a fantastic son and daughter and two rambunctious Boxers. In her free time, she enjoys live music, art, traveling, and reading.
