OAKWOOD, VA (MAY 31, 2024) – The Appalachian College of Pharmacy recently recognized its first and second-year pharmacy students for their achievements at the college during the past year.
“We are very proud of all of our pharmacy students for their accomplishments during the past year and we congratulate them for their achievements,” said ACP Provost and Dean Susan Mayhew. “We also recognized our faculty and staff for their work and I congratulate each of them for being integral parts of the ACP family. Their dedication to our students truly matters and makes a difference every day.”
Second year students recognized for their achievements were as follows:
- Henrietta Annor, Mahmoud Elhagaly, Abanoab Masry and Shobhit Sood – P2 Highest GPA;
- Mahmoud Elhagaly – Best in Therapeutics;
- Henrietta Annor – ACP Dean’s Award and Best in Pharmaceutics;
- Abanoab G. Masry – ACP Academic Excellence in Pharmacy Award;
- Alborz Justin Fatheddin – ACP Professionalism Award;
- Mona Ghanshyambhai Patel – ACP Distinguished Service Award;
- Shobhit Sood – ACP Outstanding Leadership Award; and
- Ibukunoluwa Blessing Opanuga – ACP Community Service Award.
First- year students recognized for their achievements were as follows:
- Francis Asogwa, Samantha Cool, Dalton Frye, Joey McCall, Brittany Russell – P1 Highest GPA;
- Joey McCall – Best in Integrated Basic Science;
- Francis Obinna Asogwa – ACP Academic Excellence in Pharmacy Award; and
- Micah Quin Blankenship – ACP Professionalism Award and ACP Community Service Award.
First and second year students named to the Dean’s List were also recognized.
Members of the Class of 2025 named to the Dean’s List include Basem Abdelhamed, Henrietta Annor, Meghan Combs, Kaitlyn Cook, Caleb Damron, Mahmoud Elhagaly, Aborz Fatheddin, Emily Lester, Abdulla Mamun, Abanoab Masry, Savanah Midkiff, Elizabeth Mischel, Mona Patel and Shobhit Sood.
Members of the Class of 2026 named to the Dean’s List include Francis Asogwa, Dylan Barrett, Micah Blankenship, Emma Chandler, Samantha Cool, James Craddock, Chrystal Dickens, Makayla Fields, Dalton Frye, Ty Hollon, Khubaib Iqbal, Umar Janjua, Joey McCall, Brittany Russell, Jesse Tackett and Dalton Younce.
Faculty and staff awards were also presented, as follows:
- Dr. Ed Talbott, ACP Excellence in Clinical Teaching;
- Dr. Ingo Engels, ACP Excellence in Science Teaching;
- Joshua Snead, ACP Administrative Staff Member of the Year;
- Dr. Mohammad F. Hossain, ACP Student Organization Advisor of the Year;
- Dr. Randall Cole, ACP Community Outreach Acclamation Award; and
- Dr. Angela Mutter, ACP Above and Beyond Award.
