Student Loan Counseling and Repayment
For most students, obtaining your Doctor of Pharmacy degree requires a student loan. The Financial Aid Office (FAO) offers loan counseling to help you through this process so you are well-prepared to incorporate this financial obligation into your future success. Student loans will go into repayment 6 months after leaving the institution or disenrolling from the program.
Entrance Counseling
Before receiving a federal student loan, borrowers must complete entrance counseling. Entrance Counseling consists of completing an interactive session (approximately 30 minutes) which provides tips and tools to help you understand your loan responsibilities and develop a budget for managing your educational expenses.
Entrance counseling may be completed at www.studentaid.gov
Exit Counseling
Prior to graduating or leaving school, Direct Loan borrowers must complete an exit counseling session. The session will explain your rights and responsibilities as a borrower. Exit counseling may be completed www.studentaid.gov.
Loan Repayment
After graduation student loans will become due and students may have from 10 to 25 years to repay student loans. The Federal Student Aid Office of the U. S. Department of Education website discusses the different repayment options. Visit www.studentaid.gov for more information.
