Dr. Faisal Hossain serves as the Assistant Director of Research (PharmD) and Assistant Professor of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the Appalachian College of Pharmacy.
Dr. Hossain received his B. Pharm. degree in 2006, M. Pharm. degree with a concentration in Clinical Pharmacy and Pharmacology in 2007, and Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical sciences from University of Dhaka, Bangladesh in 2016. He completed his Ph.D. research at Southwestern Oklahoma State University College of Pharmacy as a part of joint collaboration with University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. During this time, Dr. Hossain was awarded a research scholarship from Unimed & Unihealth Manufacturers Ltd, Bangladesh. Dr. Hossain is a registered Pharmacist in Bangladesh and also a member of the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists.
After completing his B. Pharm. Dr. Hossain joined Renata Pharmaceuticals Limited as a Research and Development Officer and then, he joined Beximco Pharmaceuticals Limited as Quality Control Officer. During his tenure at Beximco, he was responsible to lead the analytical method development and validation team, and as a result, he successfully developed and validated analytical methods for ANDAs submitted to the US FDA. Prior to joining ACP, he worked as researcher at Marshall University School of Pharmacy in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Research. He also joined two different universities in Bangladesh as a part time lecturer, where he taught Pharmaceutics and Regulatory Affairs.
Dr. Hossain has more than nine years of experience in pharmaceutical drug research and development. During his employment at pharmaceutical industries and drug research laboratory, he acquired skills on major analytical instrument such as HPLC, LCMS, NMR, DSC, GC, AAS, Particle Size Analyzer, Dissolution Tester, etc. He has also published significant number of conference abstracts and scientific articles in peer reviewed journals.
