Interprofessional Doctorate in Public Health Leadership

ACP offers a online sequence of courses designed to lead to an Interprofessional Doctorate in Public Health Leadership degree.

Completion of a minimum of 46 credits online, including 4 credits of experiential coursework.

Designed to serve communities by addressing high-level public health needs.

Interprofessional Doctorate in Public Health Leadership (DrPH) Overview

Appalachian College of Pharmacy’s online Interprofessional Doctorate in Public Health Leadership (DrPH) degree expands the practitioner’s frame of reference beyond the individual patient to the larger population, engaging the community itself in actions that facilitate disease prevention, health promotion, and health protection.

This degree prepares 21st-century leaders for high-level public health and healthcare roles who can work collaboratively to investigate and solve problems facing the public’s health.

Graduates will learn to identify and leverage public and private resources for programs and policies that create effective and sustained community-based solutions for community problems and will gain expertise in the following:

  • Community capacity-building

  • Population risk assessment
  • Community-based intervention
  • Program evalution
  • Coalition building

DrPH Courses

The degree will provide students with a variety of didactic content and experiences to foster interdisciplinary collaboration in patient and population care. Through these learning activities students will gain an appreciation for the benefits of a team approach and experience in discovering and applying multidisciplinary solutions to population-based problems to improve health outcomes.
